Is a Meade DS-2130 First Generation With AutoStar Good?
How good is a Meade DS-2130 First Generation Telescope with AutoStar , is it worth $150, If so, what can I see with it? I haven’t found much information about the “first” generation models. Any information would be great! Thanks.
This is a 5″ reflector?
If the mount sucks, i wonder if it could be cheaply remounted on a Dob mount. Toss the current mount, and drill a hole in the other side… And would you want a 5″ for a grab and go scope for $150 + maybe $50 in parts and ten hours of work?
One of the guys at the club got a cheap 85 mm achromat, remounted it, and now has a reasonable 85 mm achromat. Total outlay was $100, and maybe 8 hours, i think.
