orion telescope camera mount
Need help on a mount?

I am looking for some astro-photography and dabble would like some opinions on mounts. It must carry a 6 "reflector £ 12. Camera Canon EOS Rebel 1lbs.I were looking at this mountain of Orion-http: / / ~ category_id = www.telescope.com/control/product/ eq_mounts / ~ pcategory = 00000 / ~ product_id = 24 709 but this flock too http://www.skiesunlimited.net/index.php?ProductID=4663 Wold like to hear some input these. Also all other suggestions are welcome Thank porridge

My usual recommendation for the selection of a GEM is something that is about 2x the weight of everything you'll handle it bolts. This provides Them even more muscle mass for stability, but also, it can be longer if you decide to get any heavier optics. The Orion SKyPRO fits this bill quite well. Only the EQ-G and the Celestron CGEM would be better. I used to own the iOptron MINICUBE. Although it is a good system, the "Pro" model (as I understand it) is not in EQ mode to work. For a nice article about the current "state of the art" in EQ mounts, check out the latest issue (Sept./Oct.2010) of "Astronomy Technology Today" magazine – http://astronomytechnologytoday.com/
